What is ANGER? Is it normal.

Yes, anger is a completely normal, usually healthy, human emotion. The problem is, when it gets out of the range of your control and turns destructive, it can lead to problems, even be life threatening.

For example:

Problems at work: Fights, arguments, loss of job, legal actions, etc.
Problems in your personal relationships - fights, arguments, physical and emotional abuse.
Destructive problems in the overall quality of your life.

Anger can make you feel as though you're at the mercy of an unpredictable and powerful tyrant.
But there is a solution. You don’t have to submit to this unwilling and seemingly domineering force.
With our simple techniques, you can learn, understand and control anger.

Anger is an emotional State !!!

Anger varies in intensity from a simple mild irritation at any moment in time to an intense fury and rage,"
Anger is accompanied by physiological and biological changes in your body. The physiological results are many, when you get angry, not only will you find your heart rate and blood pressure will soar but so will the levels of your energy hormones, adrenaline, and noradrenaline.

What can set off anger?

Either external and internal events. A specific person (Such as a coworker or supervisor) can set off the emotion or an event (someone ahead of you fumbling with their purse at a cashier, someone holding you up, a traffic jam, even a canceled flight), or your anger can be triggered by playing over your personal problems in your mind. If you relive a memory in your mind of a traumatic or enraging events, that can also trigger off anger.

The EXTERNAL DEMONSTRATION OF ANGER

Like an animal, those powerful instincts are still alive within us. The primitive response going back to the theory of 'fight or flight' is that one will express anger by responding aggressively. Since earliest times, anger is a natural, adaptive response to threats. You will find yourself having powerful, sometimes aggressive, feelings and behaviors, which will turn on that 'fight or flight' response in order to defend ourselves when we are attacked or run away - flight. Therefore, some anger is necessary for our survival as a species or like many other creatures who didn't adapt to environmental stresses, climatic changes, etc. on this planet, over time, these species were weeded out genetically by the stronger or more powerful creatures...

On the other hand, our society has come a long way since cave man days. If we physically lash out at every person or object that irritates or annoys us; you might incur physical harm to another, yourself, even imprisonment for your actions.

HOW DO PEOPLE RESPOND TO ANGER

People use a variety of both conscious and unconscious processes to deal with their angry feelings. The three main approaches are

- ASSERTIVELY:
Assertive is the key word here, not aggressive. This is one of the healthiest way to express anger and dispell the pent up feelings associated with anger. To be assertive, you have to learn the communication techniques to make clear your needs. An example is to make “I” statements instead of “You” statements (“I feel hurt, when you act like this” rather then “You act stupid!”) as stated by the respected psychologist Eugene Laslow, Phd - and how to get them met, without hurting others.

Now, don't associate being assertive with being demanding. Understand we speaking about being respectful of yourself and others.

- Suppressing ANGER and then redirecting it:
For example: Using thought stopping techniques to stop the specific thoughts and then focusing on a more positive result.
turning it into more constructive behavior.

- Dangers in this type of response:

When outward expression is not allowedl, anger can turn inward and inward means, on yourself.
This has been known to cause hypertension, high blood pressure, or depression.

- NOT EXPRESSING ANGERS
May lead to other forms of expression, such as passive-aggressive behavior.
An example of this would be when one gets back at othersindirectly, without telling them why, or behind their backs or developing a personality that seems cynical and hostile. People who are constantly belittling others, putting putting others down, criticizing things others do, or make inapproapriate cynical comments (constantly) have not learned appropriate skills of handling their angers.
This can lead to damaging relationships.

One technique: Controlling your internal responses through self hypnosis:

Through practiced self hypnosis, it has been found you can lower your brain wave frequencies (same as in biofeedback), lower your heart rate and let those angry feelings subside. Self Hypnosis can help you to integrate these new behavioral patterns and strengthen the positive responses in you.

What is Anger Management?

Anger management is the techniques to reduce your emotional feelings and the physiological response that anger causes.
Maybe you can't eliminate those things, people or thoughts that enrage you but you can learn to control your response to them..

How can Hypnosis help with Anger Management?

You will learn new types of behavior and reacting through hypnosis whenever you encounter angry thoughts.
Where in the past you might have reacted aggressively to the situation, we now work on programming in a new positive approach to react calmly with a peaceful and positive solution to the situation instead of allowing an explosion of anger.
Remember, anger serves a purpose. In hypnosis, we work to respond to the excessive or unhealthy demonstrations of anger.

Self Hypnosis - An effective way to lifelong Anger Management

You will learn Self-hypnosis as part of your session to integrate these new ways of behavior, thoughts and actions into your lifestyle, as well as mental rehearsal of situations where you would reacting to anger in different siituations or with different people but now integrating these new behaviors.

The little known industry fact is that many well-known instructors teaching
hypnosis and hypnotherapy courses are not doing one-on-one sessions with
clients. Some never have and some have worked with very few.
If you want to learn how to do something, learn from those in the trenches.
Learn to do sessions from the viewpoint of those in the field, not from
a hypothetical point of view.
